Precision-Engineered Sanicro® 35 Stud Bolts

UK Manufacturer – ISO 9001-certified – UK and EU-sourced materials – Full traceability

Sanicro® 35 Stud Bolts

We are a leading UK manufacturer of Sanicro® 35 studbolts, expertly crafted at our precision engineering facility in Sheffield. Sanicro® 35 is a high-performance super-austenitic alloy designed to bridge the gap between traditional stainless steels and more expensive nickel alloys. These studbolts offer exceptional resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking (SCC), making them an ideal choice for the most demanding environments, including seawater, sour gas, and highly acidic chemical processing plants.

Each Sanicro® 35 studbolt is manufactured to order from fully traceable materials, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 quality standards and NACE MR0175/ISO 15156 requirements. Combining the high mechanical strength of duplex grades with the superior corrosion resistance of nickel-based alloys like Alloy 625, our fasteners provide a cost-effective and reliable solution for critical infrastructure. We supply a comprehensive range of sizes and thread forms, all precision-engineered to meet your specific project drawings and technical tolerances.

Why Choose Sanicro® 35 Studbolts?

Sanicro® 35 is a high-performance super-austenitic alloy that bridges the gap between stainless steels and nickel alloys, offering:

  • Outstanding resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in seawater and high-chloride environments
  • High mechanical strength and excellent ductility for reliable fastening in high-pressure applications
  • Exceptional resistance to stress corrosion cracking and uniform corrosion in acidic conditions
  • Superior structural stability and purity to ensure long-term performance in extreme industrial settings

These properties make Sanicro® 35 studbolts an ideal choice for environments where extreme corrosion resistance and mechanical integrity are required.

Sanicro® 35: Information, Composition & Properties for Studbolts

Sanicro® 35 is a high-performance super-austenitic alloy designed to bridge the gap between traditional stainless steels and more expensive nickel-based alloys. Characterized by a highly stable austenitic structure, this grade offers a unique combination of extreme corrosion resistance and high mechanical strength, making it an ideal material for studbolts used in high-pressure and safety-critical assemblies. Its properties ensure long-term structural integrity in environments where standard duplex or austenitic grades may fail.

Composition:

The exceptional performance of Sanicro® 35 is derived from its precise chemical balance, featuring high levels of nickel (35%) and chromium (27%), along with significant molybdenum (6.5%) and nitrogen (0.3%). This high alloy content results in a Pitting Resistance Equivalent Number (PREN) of 52 or higher. The inclusion of nitrogen enhances the material’s yield strength, while the high nickel and chromium content provide a robust defense against general corrosion and structural instability in aggressive media.

Properties:

  • Exceptional Corrosion Resistance: Sanicro® 35 provides superior protection against pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking (SCC), particularly in chloride-rich settings and seawater.
  • High Mechanical Strength: With a minimum yield strength of approximately 370-425 MPa, it outperforms many standard stainless grades, providing the load-bearing capacity required for heavy-duty studbolt applications.
  • Versatile Chemical Stability: The alloy demonstrates excellent resistance to a wide range of corrosive agents, including sulfuric, nitric, and organic acids, as well as caustic environments.
  • Resistance to Hydrogen Embrittlement: Unlike some precipitation-hardened alloys, Sanicro® 35 shows high resistance to hydrogen-induced stress corrosion, making it a reliable choice for subsea and oil and gas infrastructure.

At West Special Fasteners, we take pride in every Sanicro® 35 Studbolt we produce, no matter the application.

Certified Quality and Traceability

West Special Fasteners operates a fully accredited ISO 9001 quality system with comprehensive documentation and batch traceability. All material certificates and inspection reports are supplied as standard, ensuring complete confidence in the origin and integrity of every component.

Sanicro® 35 Studbolt Manufacturing Capabilities

Our Sheffield-based manufacturing facility specialises in the production of high-integrity Sanicro® 35 studbolts, utilising advanced hot forging and precision machining techniques. As one of the few UK manufacturers with dedicated hot press forging capabilities, we ensure the material integrity of every studbolt is preserved for high-stress applications. Our hybrid workshop combines CNC and manual technology, allowing us to produce studbolts in a comprehensive size range from M5 to M52 (metric) and 1/4″ to 2″ (imperial), with lengths up to 500mm to suit bespoke project requirements.

To ensure superior performance in safety-critical environments, we utilise cold-form thread rolling for diameters up to M72, which enhances tensile strength and fatigue resistance. Every production run is supported by rigorous quality assurance, including in-house PMI testing, hardness testing, and API-approved heat treatment processes. From specialised coatings like PTFE and Xylan to full NDT certification and material traceability, our manufacturing capabilities are designed to meet the non-negotiable standards of the subsea, offshore, and chemical processing industries.
